Firecracker Crackers (Print-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Seasoning Mixture

01 - 3 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes
02 - 28 g ranch dressing mix
03 - 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
04 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
05 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - 120 ml olive oil

→ Base

07 - 450 g saltine crackers

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Once they’re cooled off, you can put the crackers in a container with a lid or toss them onto a platter. Perfect for snacking or putting out for friends.
02 - Grab the crackers out of the oven and let them chill for a bit. This helps them get nice and crispy and lets the flavors soak in.
03 - Stick the crackers in the oven and bake for around 15 to 20 minutes. Give ’em a stir about halfway through so all the pieces get crunchy. Watch so they don’t get too dark.
04 - Set up your baking tray with a sheet of parchment and lay the crackers out flat in one even layer, not letting them stack up.
05 - Dump in all your saltines and gently toss them around so every cracker gets covered with the seasoned oil.
06 - Pour the olive oil, ranch mix, pepper flakes, onion and garlic powders, plus black pepper into your bowl. Mix everything up so it’s all blended together.
07 - Fire up your oven to 120°C. This keeps things slow and steady so the flavors get in every bite.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - Don’t want it spicy? Cut back or skip the red pepper flakes, or swap in some paprika if you like a little warmth.
02 - Throw in a little chili powder or cumin for a deeper kick.
03 - You can stir a spoonful of sour cream or cream cheese into the seasonings for a richer coating.
04 - Trying for no dairy? Use a vegan ranch mix or throw together dried dill, parsley, and more garlic powder instead of ranch.
