Blueberry Lemonade Drink (Print-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main

01 - 4 cups cold water
02 - 1 cup water for making syrup
03 - Peels from 2 or 3 lemons if you want
04 - Juice squeezed from 4 to 5 lemons, gives around 3/4 cup
05 - Half a cup of sugar, sweeten more or less if you want
06 - A cup of blueberries, fresh or frozen

→ Garnish (optional)

07 - Some fresh mint sprigs
08 - A handful of extra blueberries
09 - Lemon twists and slices

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Pour over some ice, throw in fresh mint, a few more blueberries, and maybe a lemon slice for kicks.
02 - Dump the blueberry syrup into a big pitcher, pour in the lemon juice and cold water, give it a good stir, then stick it in the fridge until it's nice and cold.
03 - Once it's off the heat, let the syrup chill for a few minutes, then strain out the bits using a mesh strainer or a piece of cheesecloth. Toss what’s left.
04 - Toss blueberries, sugar, one cup water, and about half your saved lemon peels into a saucepan. Set it over medium heat till the sugar’s gone and the berries get juicy, like 3 or 4 minutes.
05 - Rinse lemons well, peel 2 or 3, juice about 4-5 of them until you’ve got close to 3/4 cup.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - Tossing a few lemon peels in the syrup pot makes it smell even more like citrus.
02 - Want things more sour? Just add another 1/4 cup of lemon juice.
03 - You can totally use frozen or fresh blueberries, both work fine.
04 - If you want to spike it, just mix in some vodka, rum, or whiskey at the end.
05 - Stash any leftovers in the fridge and it'll still taste good for about a week.
