Meat-loaded Deep Dish Pie (Print-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Pie Crust

01 - 2 pie crusts, ready to bake

→ Filling

02 - 1 cup cheddar or provolone cheese, shredded
03 - 225 grams Italian sausage, crumbled
04 - 360 milliliters marinara or pizza sauce
05 - 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
06 - 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
07 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - 225 grams ground beef, browned
09 - 1 cup pepperoni slices
10 - 0.5 teaspoon crushed red chili flakes

→ Topping

11 - 3 tablespoons butter, melted

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - In a medium-hot skillet, cook the sausage and ground beef fully, then drain the extra grease. Put the meat aside to cool down a little.
02 - Set your oven to 220°C ahead of time.
03 - Shape one pie crust to fit inside your deep-dish pan or skillet.
04 - Place half the mozzarella over the crust, then scatter the browned meat and sausage evenly. Add half of the pepperoni slices next.
05 - Drizzle the marinara or pizza sauce over the meat layer. Season evenly with garlic powder, chili flakes, and Italian herbs.
06 - Add the rest of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar or provolone cheese on top. Throw the remaining pepperoni slices across the surface.
07 - Cover everything with the second crust, carefully sealing the edges. Use the melted butter to coat the top.
08 - Place the pie in your preheated oven and cook for 20-25 minutes until you see the crust crisp and become golden.
09 - After taking the pie out, let it cool off for a few minutes before cutting and serving piping hot.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - For an extra kick, add more chili flakes or use spicy sausage. Letting it cool briefly helps you slice clean pieces.
