Sausage Sweet Potato Plate (Print-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main

01 - 14 ounces of chicken or turkey sausage, cut into chunky rounds
02 - 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced small
03 - 2 cups broccoli, cut into little florets

→ Sauce

04 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
05 - 4 cloves of garlic, minced finely
06 - 1/4 cup honey
07 - Black pepper, sprinkle however much you want
08 - 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
09 - Salt, dash as needed
10 - 1/4 cup reduced-salt soy sauce

→ Finishing

11 - 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped up

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Get your oven going at 400°F (200°C) so it's ready when you are.
02 - Lay the sausage slices, broccoli florets, and sweet potato cubes out on a big baking sheet. Spread 'em out so everything has room.
03 - Drop the butter into a saucepan over medium heat. When melted, mix in the garlic and cook till you can smell it—just a minute or so.
04 - Pour in soy sauce, honey, and apple cider vinegar. Add some salt and black pepper. Let it all simmer for a couple minutes. Stir to mix and let it thicken up.
05 - Pour your warm sauce over the sausage, broccoli, and sweet potatoes on your pan. Mix things around so every bit gets covered.
06 - Roast everything in your hot oven for close to 25–30 minutes. Remember to stir it halfway in so it roasts evenly. The potatoes will soften and the sausage will finish up.
07 - Right out the oven, throw the parsley over the top and serve up while it’s still warm.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - Want some heat? Add some chili flakes when you make the sauce.
02 - Swap in your favorite sausage—pork, Italian, whatever you like.
03 - Making food for more folks? Just double up the ingredients and you’re good to go.
