Set the bottom half of each bun on a plate, pile beef and onions on top, then add cheese. Toss on a bit of parsley if you’re feeling fancy, pop the bun lid on, and you’re good.

While everything’s still hot in the pan, get those buns toasty until they’re just golden.

Dump out any extra grease, then mix in some soy sauce, thyme, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Let it all mingle over low heat for a few minutes.

Crumble the beef right into the skillet and cook until it’s no longer pink, breaking it up along the way.

Next toss in the garlic, give it a good stir, and wait until everything starts smelling awesome, about a minute or two.

Start with heating olive oil in a big skillet, then add onion slices and stir now and then. After 10 minutes or so, they’ll turn rich, soft, and golden.
