French Onion Sloppy Joes (Print-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - Some salt and pepper, toss in as much as you like
02 - A spoonful of dried thyme
03 - About a pound of 85% lean ground beef
04 - A big onion, sliced really thin
05 - Splash of Worcestershire sauce
06 - Two garlic cloves, chopped up small
07 - Drizzle of olive oil
08 - A dash of soy sauce

→ Assembly

09 - Handful of chopped parsley if you want it for color
10 - A cup of shredded Swiss cheese
11 - Four hamburger buns

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Set the bottom half of each bun on a plate, pile beef and onions on top, then add cheese. Toss on a bit of parsley if you’re feeling fancy, pop the bun lid on, and you’re good.
02 - While everything’s still hot in the pan, get those buns toasty until they’re just golden.
03 - Dump out any extra grease, then mix in some soy sauce, thyme, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Let it all mingle over low heat for a few minutes.
04 - Crumble the beef right into the skillet and cook until it’s no longer pink, breaking it up along the way.
05 - Next toss in the garlic, give it a good stir, and wait until everything starts smelling awesome, about a minute or two.
06 - Start with heating olive oil in a big skillet, then add onion slices and stir now and then. After 10 minutes or so, they’ll turn rich, soft, and golden.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - Let the onions cook low and slow, so they’ll get naturally sweet and tasty.
