Set oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 pan all over so nothing sticks.

Heat a big skillet over medium heat. Cook the beef, breaking it up until all pink is gone. Drain the fat off.

Put the cooked beef in a big bowl. Add both soups and stir until well mixed.

Mix in the frozen potatoes and half the shredded cheddar. Add salt and pepper and stir everything till coated.

Spread the beef and potato mix evenly in the greased pan. Press it down a bit so it layers nicely.

Sprinkle the rest of the cheddar cheese evenly over the top.

Cover with foil tightly and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake uncovered another 30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Let it sit for a few minutes after baking so it firms up.
