Cheeseburger Bake (Print-Friendly Version)

A filling bake with ground beef, cheddar, and burger flavors all wrapped up low-carb style.

# Ingredients List:

01 - 1 tbsp mustard
02 - 60 ml ketchup with no sugar
03 - 60 ml mayo made from avocado oil

04 - 907 g super lean ground beef

→ Herbs & Spices

05 - ¼ tsp black pepper, ground
06 - 1 tbsp garlic, chopped fine
07 - 2 tsp kosher salt, coarse

→ Oil

08 - 2 tbsp olive oil
09 - spray olive oil

→ Veggies

10 - 1 medium onion, chopped small

→ Cheese

11 - 170 g sharp cheddar, shredded, split

# Detailed Cooking Steps:

01 - If your dish works under a broiler, put it about 15 cm below for just a minute or two till cheese turns lightly brown and melty.
02 - Take the pan off the heat. Mix in mayo, mustard, ketchup, and 1 cup (113 g) of cheddar cheese until well blended.
03 - Set the oven to 204°C. Spray a 1.9 L baking dish lightly with olive oil.
04 - Put olive oil in a wide pan, warm it on medium-high for 2 minutes. Toss in onions and ground beef.
05 - Throw in pepper, garlic, and kosher salt. Stir and cook for a few minutes so the flavors mix well.
06 - Spread the beef mix into the baking dish evenly. Top it with the rest of the cheddar cheese.
07 - Cook and break up the beef while stirring for about 5 minutes until it’s browned and onions are soft. Drain any juice that shows up and go back to the pan.
08 - Put it in the oven for 15 minutes until everything’s heated and cheese melts smooth.

# Helpful Hints:

01 - Go for extra lean beef to keep fat low. Feel free to adjust how much cheddar you want. Bacon bits or chopped pickles can add a nice touch too.
