Baked Rutabaga Fries (Print-Friendly Version)

Golden baked rutabaga sticks with garlic, paprika, and herbs for a crunchy, low-carb snack or side dish.

# Ingredients List:

→ Veggies

01 - One big rutabaga

→ Spices and Oil

02 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
03 - 2 tbsp olive oil
04 - A pinch of dried rosemary or thyme if you like
05 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
06 - 1 teaspoon paprika
07 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder

# Detailed Cooking Steps:

01 - Start by peeling the rutabaga. Then slice it into thin sticks like fries.
02 - Mix the rutabaga sticks with olive oil, pepper, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and herbs if you want. Toss everything so all pieces get some flavor.
03 - Place the rutabaga sticks flat on your baking tray. Make sure they’re not piling on top of each other to get crispy.
04 - Pop them into an oven set at 200°C. After about 15 minutes, flip them over. Keep baking for another 10 to 15 until they’re golden and crunchy.
05 - Give the fries a little time to cool down. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

# Helpful Hints:

01 - To make fries crispier, soak them in cold water for 30 minutes before baking.
02 - Feel free to tweak the seasoning to your liking.
03 - Try dipping these with ketchup, ranch, or aioli for extra yum.
