Sausage Cheese Biscuits (Print-Friendly Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 115 grams salted butter, melted
02 - 170 grams shredded cheddar cheese
03 - 415–475 millilitres buttermilk
04 - 15 grams baking powder
05 - 13 grams granulated sugar
06 - 315 grams all-purpose flour
07 - 450 grams breakfast sausage

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Set your oven to 230°C so it starts heating up. Lightly spray a 23x23 cm glass or ceramic pan with nonstick spray.
02 - Toss flour, sugar, and baking powder in a medium bowl. Add buttermilk and stir everything into a lumpy dough. If it seems a bit dry, add extra buttermilk. Now mix in the shredded cheese and cooked sausage gently.
03 - Let sausage sizzle in a big skillet over medium-high heat for about 8 to 10 minutes. Stir now and then so it isn't pink anymore. Lay the sausage on some paper towels to soak up any extra grease.
04 - Pour the melted butter so it covers the bottom of your prepared pan. Scoop the dough on top and nudge it toward the edges. Use a spatula or knife to gently mark 9 squares on top of the dough.
05 - Bake on the middle rack for 25 to 30 minutes, turning the pan around halfway if you want even color. Take out when the tops are golden and a toothpick poked in the center comes out clean. If it browns too soon, loosely lay some foil over it.

# Helpful Notes:

01 - Spray your hands with cooking spray so dough won't stick as much when you spread it.
02 - Keep an eye on it while baking, since every oven heats a bit differently.
