Slice each string cheese into three even chunks, giving you 18 pieces total.

Take a wonton square and put cheese in one corner. Roll halfway, tuck in the sides, wet the far corner with some water, then finish rolling tightly to close it up. Do this for all pieces.

Warm oil to medium heat. Drop in 4-5 cheese rolls at a time and cook until they turn golden, about 60 seconds.

Put fried cheese sticks on paper towels to soak up extra oil, add a pinch of salt if you want, and serve them hot with pizza sauce on the side.
